But, this free program is, in my opinion, far superior to Adobe Sketch Free.Pros:- free- realistic brushes- many pro features in a free app- very easy to use for beginners; easy transition from traditional brushes and canvas- enough brushes, paints and realistic blending- a lot of fun for basic brush work- works great on Microsoft Surface product line. I have used it on the Surface Pro2, Pro3 and Surface Book. The Surface Book is the easy winner with a big screen and superior pen.Cons:- if you want a digital design studio, this is not what you are looking for; do not expect to insert shapes or render anything- not mouse friendly; geared toward stylus on screen art though a graphics tablet is also workable.- layers are a little on the basic side compared to paid products from Adobe and Corel. When I first used this on my old Windowsphone I fell in love ❤ with it. There were no instructions, but after playing with it I figured it out. I have friends that loved it too and were ready to download it, but they didn't have Windowphones 😜I got a new phone last night, windows platform of course and was hoping that the 8 would have more tools like the PC does, but no. Now all I need to do us figure out how to EDIT with Fresh Paint. On my old phone I figured out how to change the paint texture.
By drawing with the pencil, saving, editing saved picture with Fresh Paint, and drying before painting you could create a smoother surface. Submitted on 12/4/2016 Review title of MariasuggestionIve tried a lot of drawing app and this one really is the best for me not too complicated or simple or require purchase. The thing I would suggest is a way to create layers if possible, I always make mistakes and I think adding layer will make it easier to use. Over all I do like this app and its still manageable without layers but i think adding a layers feature would really help ( I suppose there are other things but honestly just adding layers would be enough because this really gives the effect of drawing on a piece of paper and not just an app).

I love using it, but after an hour or two of use, it always crashes my Surface Pro 4 (of which this app came standard, by the way). The reason is always different, but it always crashes with a blue screen of death anywhere from thirty minutes of drawing to three hours of drawing later. The app is usually pretty good about saving your art in-process to OneDrive, though, so I don't lose my work. But no matter what updates come to the computer or app (although I can never seem to update the app through the Store) it causes a blue screen of death and a forced restart.That's why I gave it three stars-please fix this fatal error! Again I'm a novice, but I like the fact I can use different kinds of brushes with what seems to be wet paint upon application! Oh and it is free. Never crashes my computer. However I had purchased some packages and then got a new computer. Did not transfer with me over to new. So, that was a bummer.

I wish I had more tools to manipulate brush types. Yet there is a lot of good tools to use in fresh paint. Fresh Paint is a good app It's a sold paint program for any age. Offering fresh creative tools.
